2 speed auto

I have a '59 Ford with a 2 speed auto trans that tries to move forward when idling in neutral or park. Also has a whine at the same time. Oil is clean. Any thoughts?? Thanks.

check the adjustment on the shifting rod, it may not be in nuetral or park when the indicator shows it is, disconnect the shifting rod and put trans in park by hand by moving the shift lever on the trans, then rehook the shift rod, adjusting it if it needs it

I cant think of any reason why the trans would try to move in neutral unless the manual shift linkage was badly maladjusted.
The whine usually means it is very low on fluid.

Fluids fine. Linkage is fine and I have serviced the valve body. Must be internal leakage. I thought someone might have experienced this problem. Thanks.

Might revisit the front band adjustment...could be a bit too tight or perhaps the clutch pack is a little out of tolerance if it's been replaced.
