2 Blade vs 6 Blade?

Hello I have always used the repro aluminum 2 blade fan , one thing to be cautious about is the clearance between pump and inner pulley area as being cast they are thicker than originally, some grinding of pump may be necessary. Was a previous post on Ford Barn where someone mounted the 2 blade and had problems with clearance. At higher speeds the fan does little, more modern cars usually had a clutch allowing the fan to freewheel. I hope this helps.

What about noise. Does the 6 blade fan make more noise. Or is it hard to tell with the noise the engine makes.

Inmy cars, both run quietly.

That person was me. The problem was solved by taking it to a friend who has a lathe parge enough to handle to arc of the fan blades Mine is too small. He simply bored a couple of millimetres out of the hub of the fan and all is now good.

Well first of all was was able to get a new in the box Brassworks radiator (16 week wait from Brassworks) from a sympathetic club member and my overheating problem is gone. Taking into consideration the fact that there is no eveidence of a 6 blade fan being superior to the 2 blade I have re installed my aluminum 2 blade fan. I did this because both the water pump and cylinder head can be removed without removing the hood and radiator (I know that some can remove a 6 blade fan with the radiator in place I sure can’t on my car).
