Yep, that's right..!

I went to my first ever Car Show and took the "Best Antique" class Award. The class covered all 20's and 30's cars. I'm not sure how many cars were in the class but I'd guess 15 or so. I know there were 5-6 Model A's. And they really looked great too.....

They only gave one (1) Plaque per class and then a "Best of Show". All judging was done by the "registered car owners" only.

The weather was the perfect Fall Day and I had two of my Grandson's with me, one 16 and his little brother who is 5. I think it was also a great day for them as they had Hay Rides, wild animals (on leashes) and treats. There were a lot of people there of course. It was held at the National Wildlife Refuge and was the 4th annual one.

What is really great is that now I can say that my Model A ( "MissTillie" ) is now an Award Winner.

Can't wait til' next year. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

P.S. I know this may not mean a lot to a lot of you, but for US first timers, it's exciting...................................LOL :p:p:p:p A lot of thanks goes to you fellas who helped me along......Seriously......................

our first & possibly last trophy......

November 2009, Judy & I were at the Ormond Beach show with our Coupe.
as always, I wrote "please do not judge" on the windshield card.
someone asked why and I told him I was just helping the judges by saving them a little time, since awards were not terribly important to me.
he told us he was in charge of awarding the "Best Unrestored Original" trophy and our car was it.
so.... we brought a trophy home. :p

proudly displayed along with the Out of the Barn Region's rubber chicken award from Dallas.

My story goes: If I show up at an event, and Bob shows up, I don't even bother. Now that Bob has built ANOTHER pu, if he brought both of them, they would be tied for first.

On the other hand, one event we both attended, my rig was featured in the local newspaper -- picture and all. No mention of Bob or his pickup.:D

Congratulations Bob!

congratulations, nothing gives you more satisfaction on all your work then the first trophy. It will always be the one you remember the most.

Congratulations!!! I know how it feels. Sunday I felt just as good as you did when I received my 3rd this year. It's a driver, nothing more, colors aren't right, no chrome bumpers BUT everyone at shows like it. Was even in the local paper last weekend from a downtown show. Congratulations again and many more.

:rolleyes:Thanks for the congrats msmason, but my car is a driver and I do not see any Fine Point Judging in my future......................................

Congratulations!!

Two years ago I entered mine in a car show and won 1st place! (I was shocked as I did not expect to win anything since it was my first show.)

I did not win a trophy, but ......................... they paid a cash prize of about $800 dollars!!!!! :D (This was in Mexico!!)
