1970 to 2010- my Model-A

First attempt at posting photos, will see if this works. Per my posting in Steve's great "why did you get into Model-As?" thread, here are a few photos showing when I started as a high-schooler back in the 1980s (and a blurry Polaroid photo I found that must have been around 1970), the storm damage in 2000 that motivated the 're-restoration' and completed car this January.

So sad to see the picture of your A under the collapsed garage, but it looks like you've got it back to perfect again!

Barry, your bad luck was a lemon which you turned into lemonade. Thanks a million for keeping another Model A going.By the way great job,she look beautiful.:D

thanks guys. Ray, your comment prompts me to throw these photos in; the first two are in 2003 when my then-7yr-old "re-started" the project by being willing to start removing the top and upholstery, and all four of my kids literally stripped the car down to the frame (much easier to point and say 'take off those bolts or that piece' than to put things BACK together :-) and the 3rd is of our fifth child helping me do body work last year. She is actually the frequent visitor to the shop and always wanting a tool to 'fix things!' :-) The 4th is the shot from last weekend, re-installing the engine after adding counterweights to the crankshaft, which fittingly shows my now-14yr old that started it all back in 2003. (he's changed a bit since the photo peeling off the roof material, yes? :)

Barry - What a great family restoration project story! And your Coupe looks fantastic! Congratilations!

I'm sure, by now, you've piled all those beautiful children into the car and taken them on a well-deserved "ice cream safari tour"!

Thanks for sharing that inspiration!

Earle
