1966 F-100 rear axle ratio code

My VIN tag give the code of 17 for the rear axle. What ratio is this? Since it's a stick shift, I'm thinking it's likely a 3.70, but I know a 3.25 was available. Thanks guys !

Have you looked for a metal tag on the rear itself?

jack up one wheel, put a mark on top of the free spinning wheel, have a friend turn that wheel 2 full turns while you count how many times the drive line turns over when the wheel gets back to where your friend started turning it, if the drive line turns over 3 1/2 times you have a 3:50 gearing, if it turns over 3 3/4 times your ratio is 3:75 and so on

No metal tag. My '73 has one, shows 3.25

hoss i have a rear end code page, and none of the codes start with a 17, neither 8" nor nine inch rear ends

According to the "Ford Pickup Redbook" - 17 denotes a 3.25:1 rear axle.
