1965 f100 hubcaps

I have a set of 1965 F100 pickup hubcaps that I will be removing dents from and polishing and need to verify that they are stainless steel. Am concerned because all my pre-war stainless is non-magnetic where these hold a magnet firmly,want to make sure they are original and not plated before I screw them up.Understand there are different grades of stainless so any help is appreciated.

Gary, as you stated, there are various grades of stainless steel.
Magnetic stainless is fairly common.

My advice would be to polish the inside of a cap, and see if you
can get it to shine to the same degree as the face of the cap.
If not, then they may be plated.
