Will the '64-'79 Mustang pressure plate have the correct bolt pattern to match a '49-53' flathead flywheel? Am trying to get a pressure plate/disc to work with Ford top-loader 4 speed and my late flathead. I see Speedway offers a complete kit with the correct shaft size & spline count but am not sure if it will bolt to my flywheel. Have tried to get Speedway to answer other questions for me but have been unsuccessful for the most part.

it should.what does your flathead use a 10 inch.all of fords 3 finger pressure plates have the same pattern as far as i know.

Darrell, the Speedway pressure plate sure looks like the "long style" 3 finger pressure plate I have now but wanted to be sure before I ordered. Thanks, Bob

Would a Long style pressure plate provide more pressure on the clutch disc between the flywheel and pressure plate than a diaphram clutch?

My understanding of the diaphragm clutch is that it requires less pedal pressure than a long style pressure plate but applies as much or more force than a long style plate.
