Recently bought a 1962 f100. Came with original 223 inline 6 with I believe a t98 transmission which is 3 on the tree. Transmission is shot and currently getting fixed. My question for the ford guru is I have a t87d, HD 3 speed transmission that I would prefferrebly have put in. However, the bolt pattern does not line up to the bell housing. What would be the best way to go about this problem, or is it not possible and wait on the light duty trans to get back from the shop.

The T87D is an older box, IIRC from 1948-1956ish on the heavier trucks. If you can dig up a bellhousing to mate up to the 223 it may be the ticket. By the time you found one, your OG transmission may be ready.
