1960 Galaxie/Edsel windshield question???

I have a 1960 Edsel Ranger 4 Dr sedan in need of a replacement front windshield. The glass isn't too hard to track down but the seal for it is. Does anyone know if a Galaxie/Starliner is the same as the Edsel? Also, is there a difference in a sedan and hardtop windshield seal? I can find one for a hardtop but their tech dept. says it will not fit a sedan. Thanks in advance!
 
Thanks. I did do a search, found them and gave them a call. Real nice people. I found they only have one for a hardtop or convertable. Same problem I keep finding ....nothing listed for a sedan. Short of purchasing one and seing how it fits no one can say for sure if they are the same, only that their catalogs do not list the sedan. I use to have an old Hollander interchange manual from a salvage yard. I'll have to dig it out, maybe that will have my answer???
 
Just a thought here, but when you got the windshield, did you have to specify hardtop or sedan? Logic being if the glass is same, a reasonable guess would suggest that the seal would also be same.
 
I thought of that too. The glass company that can get the winshield but not the seal specifically ask sedan or hardtop. I have a contact in the replacement glass industry but he is on vacation until Monday. That is where I will find the answer.....next week. I really wanted to have the car fixed to go to a show in Tennessee this weekend.
 
I looked up the seal in my 60-64 Ford parts book - it doesn't list the Edsel. But the Part # for a 1960 Ford full size except body 63 (Starliner hardtop) and 76 (convertible) is C1AB-6203110-B, name "Weatherstrip Assy, Windshield", and note says "with mouldings".
 
Thanks for all the help. From what I have researched the Edsel and the Ford Starliner are very close to twins in most things, I would guess this to be the same.
 
I did find a windshield seal, this supplier said hard top and sedan take the same one. They look the same when you lay it out on the car and compare them. I have the glass company coming the first of next week so we will find out one way or another.
 
Hi, I am new to the Ford Barn and was doing a search for the 1960 Edsel Sedan front windshield seal. Did you find a seal and did it work? I ask because I am having a 1960 Ford Edsel Sedan 2 door restored. If so - where did you find it? Thank you.
