1957 Thunderbird Front Brake Drum Issue

Replacing my front brake drums and ran into a rubbing issue with the right side. Noticed my new drum is missing a chamfer in the area where the drum fits over the backing plate flange. Anyone run into this??

A trip to a brake drum lathe should most likely fix that...
Take the old one along as an example for the person doing the cutting.

Unless the supplier is willing to replace it, for no charge, or at least less than the cost to fix it.

I purchased the drums from Larrys Thunderbird. The guys I dealt with were very professional and kind. They've already contacted their supplier and getting corrections in order. My issue was resolved this morning. I removed the hub from the offending drum and found a burr in one of the lug stud holes. I lightly polished it out, pressed the hub back into the drum, reinstalled and have no issues. Evidently, the burr caused a very small distortion and resultant rub. Going forward, I will check parts over as a first step. My 'Bird stops as best as can be expected with drum brakes. Best of all, it doesn't pull to one side.

That does not happen too often with the bigger outfits. Service counts. OK it happened, and they are taking care of it. Good for them.
