1956 Continental Mark II

Gorgeous and rare, 1956 Continental Mark II in Starmist White, blue and white interior and factory air conditioning.This car was built in September 1955 and is car number 1233.
Conceived to be the world's finest automobile, and priced higher than Roll-Royce, the Continental Mark II was built to exacting standards of quality to exceed all competition. The Ford family favored Mark II's for their personal transportation and some were kept for a number of years. Priced at over $10,000 with the optional air conditioning, double the price of most American luxury cars, very few Mark II's were sold. Production was only about 3000 cars during the 1956 and 1957 production years. Fewer cars remain today, and fewer yet with factory air conditioning.
This car has been owned by my friend for over 12 years. It has had the front end suspension rebuilt, painted about 10 years ago. Some interior panels were replaced with matching naugahide. Has been driven very little in the past 12 years.
Brakes rebuilt several years ago, needs brake booster.
Exhaust replaced several years ago, excellent condition.
Over time, the paint has started to crack, and will need to be renewed. Also the vent and quarter windows are not functioning and will need some attention. Town and Country radio is included and has been stored in the trunk. Factory air conditioning needs charging..The 368 engine runs but has some noisy lifters.
The body is in very good condition. The glass is in good condition with only one small crack on the drivers side. Overall this rare Mark II needs some cosmetic attention.
