WANTED: need some help to change the rear end speed from a stump puller speed to a speed that's comparable to turnpike cruising.. Can anybody help me with a ring and pinion set that will fit the '56 truck rear end 3.25, 3.28, 3.30 would do.

type High Q Ties 9" Ford info in your search box, it will take you to a site with all the info you need on ford rear ends, it covers the 8" and the 8 1/2" and 9" rear ends, just do a little measuring and find one that fits

Best bet is to get a 9 inch rear from a 57 or later pick up. They are a bolt in and you can get many different ratios for the rear.

Just so you know 9" rearends and gear sets will be getting alot cheaper as IMCA mods are going to Quick Change rearends next year. Market will soon be flooded with good used gear sets. Rod

If you're truck is an F100, it should have a Dana 44 rear axle. Gear sets should still be available for these. Started making them in the 40's and still being used in some vehicles. Plenty strong and don't need a 9 inch Ford to replace it unless you are running tons of horse power, or have a lot of money to burn.
