"NOW the transmission will not shift into any gears. Any Help.
1. When you disassemble the torque converte(TC), the refill will be about 12 qts. Hopefully, you refilled and checked the level after starting and let idle. Since the thing will still be cold, it should not read "Full", but should be at or above the lowest hole in the dipstick while idling.
2. Check to be sure your jack did not crush the oil pan up against the oil pick up point in the ******. Simply put, just look to make sure the pan does not have a concave shape to it.
"I do know that the fly wheel was free spinning and not lock into place. should it been lock/not moveing before we bolted it up"
It is normal for the TC to freely rotate independent of the flywheel before you insert the attaching bolts. But, hopefully you were careful about making sure the TC was correctly oriented into the front pump drive cogs. Since one cannot see this, you have to go by feel and be sure it drops in and rotates freely. It should drop in to the point that you could see space between the TC and the flywheel so that you had to pull the TC out toward the flywheel to seat it into the flywheel.
Good luck and let us know how it comes out.
