1955 thunderbird fransmission

1 have a 1956 t bird with auto transmission. when the car sits for a couple of weeks & i take it for a ride it throws trans oil out the filler tube. any one ever had this problem

First, make sure it is not overfilled and the case vent is not plugged.

If it spits out the filler tube when started after a long sit, it is usually the torque convertor draining back into the case/pan.
