1955 t bird water pump

We are resealing a 1955 T Bird engine for a customer and addressing an overheating issue - I order a new water pump and a stainless baffle but I believe the spacer is missing from this engine , I have about a 1 1/2 inches of clearance behind the water pump impeller and front cover housing. Could someone please tell me exactly what is missing from the engine. It was overhauled about 4 years ago and has run hot ever since and leaked oil.

Also is a pcv valve conversion a good option on this engine instead of the draft tube.

Thanks for all the help

Apparently this is not a T Bird engine as the customer was led to believe , If I leave the spacer out is there a way to cool this engine more ? - It also only has one fan belt but has a lower pulley for 2 belts that is what is making me wonder exactly what has been swapped on this engine
Thanks Dennis

Do you realize you are posting in the "To the editors" forum that is seldom read? You might want to get a catalog (maybe online) from a T-Bird parts supplier and see if you can determine what is missing/changed. You might also post a few photos in the Late Ford V8 forum and ask your question there. Be sure to set your camera at the lowest resolution and the photos should be easy to post.
