1955 seat material suppliers

[junkyardjeff]

Its time to reupholster the front seat in my 55 sunliner and I need sources for the vinyl,I know ready made covers are available but I want to stitch them myself. I am going to check our suppliers at work but I never seen anything that looked close.

If you are a business you might try one of the suppliers of the ready-made kits. That's how the guy found the material when he did the seats for my '56. Seems he told me the material came from California but I don't have any other info, and that was about 3 years ago.

Try SMS Auto Fabrics on Oregon. 503-263-3535. They have older stuff, not sure if they go back to 55. Kind of pricey, but if they have you what you want ?????

LeBaron Bonney bought out ABC Upholstery, which specialized in '55-'56 Fords, so check them. The guy who owned ABC started up a new business to make interiors for mid-'50s Mercurys and may still be doing Fords. I suspect Larry's T-bird and Mustang's supply for '55-'56 interior soft goods may be coming from LeBaron Bonney/ABC if Larry's isn't doing it on their own.
