I am working under the dash installing electric wipers in my 55 and now no interior lights,it must have a fuse somewhere and anyone know where its located.
Jeff, Assuming you are talking about the dome light, tracing it on the wiring diagram I don't see a separate fuse for the doom light. Just connects to the light switch. There is a fuse (or circuit breaker) at the light switch. The wire is black with a blue tracer.
Sorry, can't help more than that, I don't have stock wiring.
Its kind of like the dome light but on my sunliner there are lights in the door jambs and a courtesy light under the dash that have no power,I tried to trace the wires and they are green but will look again tomorrow.
OK I think I see them, two are called quarter lights (right ad left) and a courtesy light. All tie into a junction with the dome light (if you have that) then to the right and left front door switches. From the door switches the wire turns green with yellow tracer, goes through a junction to tie right and left door wies together and then to headlight switch.
I'm tracing backwards from the lights so the actual current flow is from switch to lights.
I don't see any fuses along the way except the one at the light switch.
May I suggest you invest in a wiring diagram. Mines a nice laminated one I got from www.classiccarwiring.com
If it's like a '54 the fuse is located on the firewall just above the master cylinder in the rectangular box that has four sets of wires coming from it.
Yes, the interior lights have a fuse at the very back of the headlight switch. But you may have accidentally disconnected one of the bullet connectors at the junction block that feeds the dome light circuit.
