Here in England a friend has just acquired a 1955 Fairlane RHD built in Canada. As far as we know it was sold new in England but there is no documentation. From the VIN/Serial number we can discover that it is an 8 cyl Fairlane Town Sedan built at the Oakville, Canada plant. Can anyone assist with decoding the remaining numbers particularly the original colors?

VIN/Serial number 473C J56 125348

On the firewall there is a plate as follows :-

Style 473C
Body No 4139K
KBC55 401 418
B3 RHD

Thank you for any assistance.
Colin.

Unusual. Must have been meant for export from CANADA.

You would need the correct year FORD of CANADA SERVICE and/or PARTS MANUAL to break it down.

what colour is it now.you should be able to find the original colours somewhere on the car.
After a few other color paint jobs I had to pull the dashboard and inside firewall insulation to find the original color on a '57 project.

Canadian RHD 1955 Ford Fairlane Town Sedan in Australia. Some Trim has been removed. The 1955 Customline Sedan was the only model that was sold in Australia, plus the 1955 Mainline Utility.
