its been a 15yr wait for this ol girl..about a month ago, my brother and I finally got the fetching call and couldn't have been more ready and so surprised.
i almost gave up with it few yrs back but kept in touch with the owner and it payed off
i had to set the camera up for a black & white pic cause it felt so long waiting on this treasure..this truck is all orig and in pretty good shape but someone stole the radiator and battery few yrs back when scrap was thru the roof. the orig 6cyl engine had a mild stick and when I got it home I broke the engine free with a pull on hard surface..the 90yr old gent i got it from couldn't have been a better soldier..we did install a new radiator, light tuneup, complete brake system, complete fuel system including tank, new seat cover from Kmart, few light bulbs, new muffler...i also installed a set of old slots i cleaned up on almost a new set of tires i got off craigslist.Truck starts and runs pretty good and i can say the 6cyl has some snot..it can get up an go for what it is..today i got insurance on it, and hopefully tommorrow i'll get the plate and registered and off to a local garage for inspection..I'll hopefully be back in 1955 by this weekend at the latest..
im not looking to win any trophies,i'll be running the truck for groceries, fillin fuel cans, car parts and some tobacco runs. im sorry that its not a v8 for this forum, but i had to share my 55 story! i want to thank Mark from Colorado for giving me the direction to this FordBarn site few months ago for help on my 47 panel and also say thanks to the friendly members i have been talking to..im sure this wont be the last you hear from me and this truck..
