I have a 1955 Crown Vic with glass top. I am installing the horns. What is the best way to run the wire to the horn button? There is none there now. I am starting from scratch.

Unless I'm mistaken (rare :D) that wire runs down the center of the steering shaft and exits at the bottom of the steering box. It's a PITA to do but you can feed the wire through from the top. Lube it up well with silicone spray lube. You might be able to clip it below the contact button and splice on a thinner gauge wire to make it easier. It only carries a ground signal, no voltage involved.

Dobie is right. One way to thread the wire down is to use a semi stiff one strand wire down the tube and then pull the horn wire down by attaching it to the thicker wire.

The horn wire that runs thru the center of the steering shaft has a woven nylon jacket for protection from wear. You can buy that wire with the special terminals pre-attached at many Ford parts resto suppliers. That wire connects to a wire in the harness that runs to the horn relay "ground" terminal (which completes the circuit when horn button is depressed). The large yellow wire at relay is Battery "Hot" wire and the third wire at the relay runs out to the horns.
