Are there any differences between 1954 Ford and 1951 Ford wheels?
e.g.,1) diameter, 2) width, 3) back spacing, 4) lug pattern,
5) hub cap acceptance, etc. Thanks in advance.
I know that the lug pattern is the same. I don';t know about the width, backspacing etc. Though I suspect that they are pretty much both same. Wheel covers will interchange, but are different for 51 and 54.
'51 is 5" wide whereas the '55 is 5.5" wide. Probably the same for '49 and '54 respectively. I only guess at this based on the fact that '49 and '51 share the same running gear (flathead) and suspension as do the '54 and '55 (Y-block). All of the other particulars of the wheels appear the same.
Not sure about the '51 and later, but '49s and '50s with 6 cyl engines came with 16" wheels. The V8s had 15". Don't ask why. Not many can explain Ford logic.
