1954 ford f-100

Hello, I have a 54 f-100 v8 w/ 3 speed stick. There is a slight grind when going from first into second. I Was told it could be a brocken or cracked synchro ring. I would like to have it fixed. I live in Lockport ny, 14094. Can anyone tell me a good place (person) to take the truck to have this trany problem taken care of and possibly how much we're looking at ? THANKYOU :)

Maybe checkout the Yellow Pages in the phone book or check out any shops in your area and have them give you an idea as to what it could be and how much to repair .I have a 55 3 speed out of my truck you could have ,but we are a few miles apart .:(

Hello, If the 3 speed you have is in good mechanical condition i would be interested. Would you ship for shipping charges and something for your time ? THANKYOU.

Sorry, it was taken yesterday afternoon .I had it laying around for 3 or 4 years and tried to give it away several times .So when I got the chance to do so ,it went .

make sure you have the right free play in the clutch pedal, it should be around 1 to 1 1/2" when you push the pedal down with your fingers, to much free play wont let the clutch completely release, it keeps turning and causes gear grinding

Get a Manual and fix it yourself, it probably is the easiest trans in the world to take out and work on, you can have it on the ground in 20 minutes, don't even have to jack up the truck.:)
