I would like to install a floor shifter in a 1954 Ford F-100 with a stock 3 speed trans. on the column and stock 292 Y block.
I thought HURST made this kit back in the day but can't find one.
Does anyone know where I can get a floor shift kit that will work and fit?
Thanks in advance.

Jim ..... I sent you an answer to your PM. I looked at Lokar and I think they would have one, but EBay also has several choices, but for a old 3-speed I don't know now.

Jim,
In the 60's Hurst made an install kit for 57-62 ford F100 pickups with the light duty 3 speed but to the best of my knowledge never made one for 53-56. The problem was the 2 bosses on the side cover that the clutch pivot bracket bolts to interferes with the levers. (Since they will be pointing up using a floor shifter.) The only way to really do this is to convert to a hydraulic clutch like the 57 and up and change the side cover to a car style one. I sold a couple of the 57 and up kits and tried to make something work on a 53-56 (I rebuild/sell these transmissions) but could not figure out a way.

Mike J.......I also remember some guys installing an different transmission via an adapter plate in order to get a floor shift. I just can't remember which one thoug.

Long ago I put a cheapo "will fit" floor shift in a '56 Panel, with the levers changed over, the shift pattern was turned over.
It was behind a 352 FE.
