I am restoring a 53 meteor 2dr hardtop Victoria. It has the automatic transmission. I had the ****** rebuilt about 7 or 8 years back and its been sitting inside a dry shop ever since. I recently got it running but there is no wheel lock when in park. I took off the linkage to verify park but can still rotate the drive shaft. Someone said the park pawl might be seized in the unlock position because it has a steel case transmission. Possible?? Can it be accessed by removing the tailshaft? Also it seems to slip a little when we loaded it onto a trailer to have some work done the other day, had to rev quite high to make it climb the ramps. The dipstick is not original so not sure how much oil it should have from empty. any ideas?
