1952-53 Ford throwout bearing with collar

Since I am running a late model Ford 4 speed with Jeep shifter on my new flathead can I run a late 50's thru 60's throwout bearing assembly with the stock stamped release arm? I am running a stock 10" long clutch. Don't want to run a NOS unit with a modified engine.

I need a clutch guru with an answer to this question. Can't find anyone making the bearing and collar assembly anymore.

There also might be some tech archives on the jalopy journal HAMB site that cover this swap. Most go to the T5 type conversions but there are a few that have used the 4-speeds.

Thanks rotorwrench for the information. Found the answer to the throw out bearing question now have to deal with input shaft problem.

Hey Scott. You have a 40 Ford. Why not use the original type clutch release system?

You might try Fort Wayne Clutch in Ft. Wayne , IN. They build and re-build a lot of antique and specialty clutches for cars, trucks, tractors, etc. Good folks who might have some ideas. FWIW.
