1951 Wagon o/d solenoid question

I have a '51 wagon that's going to 12v. I haven't had time to check out the size of the solenoid....but I do remember it was close to the floor. Does the wagons have a special shorter solenoid for the o/d unit or can I use any 12v solenoid.

I dont think there was a difference on the wagons but when you go to 12V the later ones are smaller. Some have a bit of a flat slope on the cap also.Tim

No issues on my 49 wagon with a 12v solenoid.

Thanks that’s good to hear. I thought I remembered reading that it was. Still collecting parts.
