Hi, this may have been asked before but seeking advice re reinstalling heater control Unit to the square hole in the dash. The knobs fitted to the slide levers seem to need removing to install but how are the knobs fitted, recessed screw or push in bearing type?? I didn't remove the unit originally and can't seem to see or feel a screw head. Trying to avoid damaging. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Assuming you're working on a '51 CAR, the knobs are retained by tiny set screws on the bottom of the knobs. FWIW I recently redid my '51 dash and I don't recall having to remove them,..... but if you need to, that's how they come off.

Thanks for that. Thought they must have been deep recessed screws. As I didn't disassemble the car wasn't too sure on fitting. Manual of limited assistance. Now reassembling it with all the new wiring in place makes it tricky. I appreciate your response, thank you.

Yes, things get kind of congested with all in place.
