Welcome to the site.
Lots of F-1 owners on here to help you.
Questions are easier to answer if you have pictures along with them.
Good luck and have fun.

Hello George, thanks for joining the forum.

I could spend 3 hours writing all the advice I know about the f1 and not hit the exact thing you want to know.

If you have a specific query, just ask a question. People enjoy helping others especially if it in an area that they are passionate about.

(I couldn't really spend 3 hours, I am just trying to make a point!)

Welcome to the Barn.

Mart.

Hi George, welcome to the FordBarn.:) As previously stated, there are a lot of F-1 owners here (myself included) and most are very helpful. We do love to see photos and, as an added benefit, they help with explanations and solutions. Enjoy building the truck and please let us see pictures.

George,
Good luck with your restoration and you can be assured
the Fordbarn will walk you through any obstacles you encounter.
I tried to upload photos in the past with no luck.
Would someone please post exactly HOW TO DO THIS!!!
Bob

let us know where you are, maybe some one lives close by and has a truck you could look at, 48-52 are really brothers with as few specifics so a look at any one of those will be helpful. also tells us where to refer you too for engine building, etc. Good luck

George,
Welcome to the best site with the best contributors. As Alan says, your location in your profile is always helpful and photos along with your questions always help others to help those in need. Enjoy your stay.

Yes ,welcome. The 3.9 was common with the 6 cyl, It also works well with an OD trans with the 239.

Welcome into the barn with the rest of us Ford heads. I haven't worked on the F1 axle specifically but I got the experience with the 51 Mercury since the two Dana 44s are nearly the same. Both my 51 cars have the 3.92:1 but they have overdrive transmissions to drop the Rs. For a pickup to pull loads, the 3.92:1 isn't bad. If you want highway speeds with lower rpms then you can check with F100 suppliers since they used the same rear up to 56 or so and maybe longer in some cases. I think highway ring & pinion ratios are still available.
