I have a 1951 F-1 5 star extra that I did a frame off restoration and am having problems starting after its hot. It acts like the battery is low when it turns. Any ideas

Check the grounds. Make sure all the wiring contact points are clean and the wire is heavy enough for 6 volt if you haven't converted to 12volts. 0ga welding cable is good for making 6 volt gounding cables and conductor cables to the starter.

im getting in here late and some things have already been posted, but im going to go over them again, First, have a good battery with plenty of cranking amps, then 2nd is the right gauge cables for the voltage, as important as the battery, 3rd, clean solid connections, 4th, grounds and plenty of them, one from the battery to engine, do not use the exhaust manifold as a grounding point, a head bolt is the best, then to a bolt from the engine to a starter bolt , one from the engine to the frame, use another heavy cable for this, and one from the engine to the firewall, make sure all connections are clean, clean, clean and tight
