I acquired a 1951 Ford convertible that had no top hydraulic pump. I now have a replacement but I can't really tell how it mounts by looking at the photo in the Green Book. Does anyone have a photo?
thank you

you know it is mounted under the backseat on a brace in a position so you can hook up the lines . 51 was the 1st. year for under the seat.SUNSHINE

I just finished a 51 restoration last summer. The pump is not mounted under the back seat. It is actually mounted vertically behind the left side rear quarter back seat side panel. If you have the old pump you can see how it mounts with a bracket to the inner sheet metal behind that side panel. I believe the rebuilt pump I bought had the bracket on the pump. Let me know if you need the supplier info. It was an ouitfit out of Florida that advertises in Hemmings. They supplied the cyliners, pump, and lines. Very nice parts and the top works great.
Here's a pic of my 51.

thank you gentlemen
I went ahead and fabricated a mounting plate for the new pump but if I ever run across the missing bracket in a swap meet or somewhere, I'll pick it up and use it just for authenticity.

I've got some pics of the top pump and it's mount.
PM me with your e-mail and I'll send them to you.

To KGS or anyone with advice,
I would be interested in seeing your pictures of the master hydraulic pump mounting for a 51 Ford Convertible. I just acquired one and it has no hydraulics at all. email is :jdstcharles@gmail.com
Any help on sourcing replacement pump and cylinders would be welcomed as well!

I got pump and rams from HydroElectric in Florida.
the pump is not stock but it's a 6-volt unit and works well.
