Do the 4.250" build, get 150+ HP x 260+# Torque!!

Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

P.S. Easy build/numbers using this platform!!

Like "Ol' Ron" on here, I have developed a great love for a 258" flathead (stock stroke with a 1/8" overbore). Sure it won't develop the power that a 4.250 stroker will, but they are lively engines and waaaay cheaper since they use a stock crank and cheaper pistons. I have $2100 in my latest 258, including the "speed parts" (heads, cam, carbs and ignition). That includes regrinding the crank and new bearings and pistons. (I will admit to being somewhat of a "scrounger".)

That must have been an old post. My present engine in the 47 is a 280ci merc. And it;s stock except for the pistons, Very impressive torque, even sounds pretty good with the EAB cam.
