1950 to 1940 exhaust

This is an example of something that has griped me for a long time. Making fun of another Ford guy's language and typing skills. On the Ford Barn, our hobby is old Fords. Those that feel that their English skills are superior to others can keep that information to themselves or go teach school somewhere. This is not the place to shame our fellow Ford enthusiasts.

I'll make the guess the question is if F-1 exhaust manifolds will fit and work in a 1940 half ton pickup.
I don't know for sure since I haven't tried, but I doubt it. The factory manifolds get close to the steering box, there isn't much room for a larger manifold. If you have the later manifolds in hand you can try, but I would keep an eye out for a usable set of 1940 manifolds at a good price.

Alan, I was simply having some light fun with my respected friend 19Fordy.
On a serious note, I hope I never get to the point when I no longer have interest in learning.
Don't you get bored?

Just to clarify:

My statement "Never heard of a 1940 1/2 chassis." was not meant to criticize anyone's " English language or spelling skills. I realized "chases" was simply a typo and interpreted "chases" to mean chassis. With that assumption, it me wonder if Ford had made a chassis design change halfway through the 1940 model year of which I was unaware.

I knew what you meant... just having fun with ya.
I'm certain Alan's note was directed at me.

When someone says "worked to fit", I'd have to assume they were talking about the pipe, as there's not much you can "work" on a cast iron manifold. IF that's the case, then the pipe can be worked to fit on anything, but at that point you're basically just making your own exhaust. You can use the axle hump and straight sections to ease the task somewhat. Done that plenty of times.

"Pick up a tool"?.....I'm lost.
