1950 Merc ingnition switch

I would like to know how you can remove the ignition switch from the dash of a 50 Merc. Any help would be great !( i do not want to scatch the dash)

Reach behind the dash and push the switch toward the rear of the car. (it is spring loaded)
You should see the bezel on the front of the switch move outward, (this loosens the pressure on the bezel)
You should be able to twist the bezel to a point where it releases.
