1950 6 volt starter convert to 12 volt details

Lots of people, myself included just use the 6V starter on 12V.
It helps if the engine fires readily.
 
Here's how I converted and reinstalled my stock 1953 6V starter to12V, step by step.
Yes, the 6V starter will work but, I decided to change it to 12V after 20 years. Be sure and
do as shown in Photo #9 as it makes installation and removal a lot easier. Don't forget the little starter bracket on the oil pan that supports starter.
