1949 mercury coupe body brackets

Hi:

The front body brackets on my 49 merc project are rusted out. These are not the bolt-thru brackets that secure the body to frame but the brackets to which the floor pan is welded. Off the top, I'd estimate the horizontal part is 10 inches long and the vertical leg is about 6 inches long. I'm sure I could fabricate them but am wondering if anyone has found some from another fomoco product that fit or if anyone has a pair for sale? I've never noticed them on the aftermarket. Thanks in advance. Lefty Rodan

It sounds like you are referring to the inner rocker panels that support the body. If coated with the heavy undercoat, they like to rust out. Green Mountain Parts fabricated many of these and that's where the last set I purchased came from. There is a Mercury Parts source list on the HAMB that lists suppliers of mid century Merc parts. Slddnmatt on the HAMB makes some nice stuff too and might be worth contacting.
