1949 Ford 8n Tractor

I''m now in the prized possession of a '49 8n. Does anyone know if there is a web site such as Ford Barn for the Tractors.

There are some that are general tractor or old engine communities as well. There are 9N/8N owners that frequent on here too. I still regularly use a 1956 Ford 800 series model 850 myself.

Since many of these old tractors are still in common use, a person can google subjects and take your pick of answers.
 
I just GAVE my 8N to my best friend that's been hounding me for years wanting to restore it. I believe there are more parts and info available on the web for the "N" tractors than we have available for these old Ford cars. DD
 
mytractorforum.com, is another forum for all tractors .My wife has a 50 model 8N with correct ford Brush hog, I have a 64model , 4000-4cyl. Diesel, best small tractor for my needs.
 
NTractorClub's and yesterdaystractors.com's 9N-2N-8N message boards are both on my daily "check-in" lists, right up there with the Ford Barn, and a major reason why I don't get squat done at night...;-)
 
One thing that gave a leg up for the Ford Ns is the fact that there were a lot of them over in China before the Nationalists got kicked out. The Red Chinese government copied the damn things and made even more of them. A lot of new hard parts and castings are available due to this. Some of it takes some work to fit but at least some good things came out of it.
 
A lot of times, I go to my local FLAPS looking for a part. They have no idea of what I want, but if I give them the part number, they say "yeah, we have them in stock, they're for a Ford tractor".
 
Thanks Guys. I was not thinking so much about parts, as Dennis Carpenter has a good listing for them. In fact I've already bought some and delivered in 3 days for $9.99 !!!
I am looking for a place that I could ask questions like I do here from time to time. I'll check out the suggestions noted above.

Mike congrats, Ntractor as others said, feel free to pm me, I sold my 48 8N a few years ago but owned it for over 10 years. I think I have to a repair book in PDF format somewhere. Mine was 6 volt with a loader, I was amazed how it started up in about half a crank. They have their faults and quirks but are great machines. check out the picture in my album.

What in the world does 'FLAPS' mean? spell it out for us old guys ! I too have
a 1949 bought new never ever been touched used all year. sam
 
Time for paint; any one know the code for Ford gray? Went to tractor supply for a can
and that paint is so far off its like almost white. This gray is almost like its got some
blue in it. I have a 1/2 quart genuine Ford from the dealer from the 1970s still good
maybe I can get it analyzed just maybe: sam

The paint I purchased at TSC was the correct color. It does change color as it dries. This was the brush paint, no idea if it is a spray.
