1949 Barn fresh F-1

The bench seat is black, I thought they originally came only in brown. Maybe not original, or maybe I'm mistaken. Anyway, sweet truck that you should never sell....I wish my truck had a history beyond 2000!

Keep the truck, Family history!. To sell it to build a Chev. ??? You'll Be sorry. Besides the Ford Gods will cast a spell on you. Not a good one either! I have a few things that belonged to my grandfather, would never part with them. To the average person they'd be worthless. Like Frank says we're hoarders, I have the illness. Ask the wife. Just my 2 cents worth. Ray

Hey Marv--I just sold a 55 --5 window that was a rust free straight body--Only change was the 302 Engine----Everything worked---Got 5200.00 out of it--Good Luck--

Good looking truck with a great family connection. Your location will certainly work against you should you choose to sell. I've listened to enough stories to suspect that the $3500 you might get would be long forgotten while the regret lived on.

Hi, it's your truck and you can do what you wish. However what I have seen is that a kid seems interested, but once you get into the project (normally the nasty parts like sandblasting) they loose interest. You will then have one truck apart, while the other one you could drive around is gone. $3500 will not go very far in restoration these days even for parts. If it would be worth say 10,000 that might be another story. It probably would be better for him if you can work on one and you can drive the other one with him.

Maybe some other project could bring in $3500 which he could do, or a well meaning relative could loan him the money. As the other guys have said, if you have a truck in the family it's a shame to see it go, almost everyone I have known regrets it later.

Don't sell the truck. I just sold my 48 to my wife's cousin, and I miss it already. Nice pickup, with that kind of history, you should be happy to own something like that. Good luck with your decision.
