1949-51 Overdrive Knob

Can someone post a picture of what the overdrive lockout looks like on a '49 to '51 Ford? On '52-up cars it appears to be a chrome T-handle under the dash, but some catalog pictures have me thinking that in the early years it was a dash knob?

Thanks,

Dave

I can assure you that the overdrive cable handle on 1951 Ford cars was black with white letters, not sure about 49-50.
it is mounted under the heater control as shown.

Hmm, I'm certain Mac's offers a chrome bezel marked "Overdrive". Do I recall now that the '51 dash was different from '49 and '50?

51 dash is one year only and totally diferent from 49-50, 49-50 look similar to each other but have different trim items. I am not sure what you are asking for??

There is a small bracket left of the column where the bezel you show mounts. Both the 49 &50 are the same and use a chrome t-handle. Nice repos are available.

The vendors offer a chrome "T" handle to be used on whatever. 49-50 had a small "T" handle compared to the vendors' model. 52-53 had a black "T" handle like jdl above.
The vender's "T" handle will work, you just have to cut to the right length.

Thanks, fellas. Any chance one of you can illustrate what the bezel I posted looks like installed?

Thanks,

Dave
