I have a 1948 Heater installed in my car, everything works, but I get cold air no heat. I have new thermostatas flushed and clean system and add new anti freeze. Is it the heater core thats bad, if so can it be cleaned. Does anyone have a good heater they want to sell with the inlets on one side vertical postion, ( one above the other )

Is the water circulating thru the heater core? Plugged heater hose? Air bound? Does at least one of the heater hoses get hot?

I have one that might be the one you are looking for. It is the same as the one that I have in my '48 Merc. I bought it for the 4 wire motor. I don't know if the core is good or not. However I had my core boiled out, pressure tested and the cabinet glass beaded at A to Z Auto Radiator in Peconic Long Is. Bob at A to Z does wonderful work. As a matter of fact my Merc has an underseat heater as well. The core was round and totally junk. I gave it to Bob and he actually made a new core to fit. He glass beaded that housing too, ready for paint. The total job was under $200.00 for both. I paid $50.00 for the extra heater. I will sell it for $50.00 as is, plus fgt. There are a couple of variations of this heater so you must make sure of the exact locations of the in and out tubes. If you want it and also want me to have it cleaned and checked out ( if it is the correct one ) I could do that but you would have to pay the cost in addition to the $50.00. Good luck.

I rec'd your message about the pictures. I am not an expert when it comes to these computors. In fact I could not figure out how to reply to your request for the pictures. I can send you pictures on your e-mail if you want. Let me know what it is and I will send pictures to you. My e-mail is richoverton@verizon.net. If your mail is blocked to mine, send it here and I will add you to my unblocked list. Thanks.

You did not mention if you have a shutoff valve on one of the heater hoses. If so, make sure is is opened. Counter clockwise opens it. Please let us know if you have this valve. If the core is clear the pumps should push water thru. Don't understand "air bound".
