1948 Ford Question in steering wheel

I am asking for a friend, he has a 1948 ford that needs a steering wheel, just one that will fit it. What year range will bolt right on he is selling the car and just needs to be able to steer it.

I believe that all columns approx 1930 through 1948 use the same taper and key and will accept steering wheels from that year range. Column bells may make it more complicated than that but I belive the steering wheels will physically interchange.
