For sale is my 1947 Ford 1/2 ton pickup. I love this truck, but I do not drive it much and it sits outside. I want to concentrate on other projects and I feel I just simply have too much going on. It's a great lil pickup, it has a 226 flathead 6 and a three speed on the floor. When I bought this truck, it had sat since 1991. I had the gas tank cleaned, new fuel valve, and all new steel line to the fuel pump. Fuel pump is new, and carburetor is rebuilt. Bubba's went through the distributor, and it has new wires, plugs and an NOS cap and rotor. The generator has been rebuilt, and it charges fine. It has a new regulator, stater solinoid, battery, cables and a complete cloth coved wiring harness ($$$). Every piece of wiring is new except the headlight pigtails. The exhaust manifold was cracked, so I replaced it and the intake with new gaskets. Also has new exhaust. Tires are new Firestone 6.50:16's on original ford rims.
I went through the entire brake system. It has new wheel cylinders, master cylinder, all three rubber hoses and every piece of steel line is new, re-lined shoes, turned drums, packed bearings, etc. needs E brake cables freed up or replaced. The windshield and rubber are new, side glass both has cracks but nothing serious.
All gauges work except speedo (I investigated and it's just a frayed cable). Has decent oil pressure, charges, fuel gauge works and it has a good working thermostat. Belts and hoses new, and radiator cleaned. This truck went 350 miles on our flathead run in September, and it was 103 degrees coming back but the truck did awesome.

The body is very strait. A couple shallow dents in the front fenders, both running boards are a little wavy and have typical rust on top of the braces (not very bad). Cab corners are good, as is the doors. Drivers floor board has a hint or rust, and the drivers side stake pocket is rusty at the bottom. Also, drivers front fender has some bubbling wher it meets the running board. Overall I would say above average in the rust department and overall very strait consittering how beat these things usually are. It has it's share of dings, dents, and some old repairs here and there as it was used as a truck but obviously loved too.
It runs good and has good power. Shifts fine but throw out bearing makes a little noise. Heater works well., doors open/shut good and windows/cowl vent work fines. The interior paint is very nice. The truck was repainted in the 60's but i think the interior paint is original. Has a Deluxe steering wheel and 49 Ford handles. Seat is comfy but could use recovering. Has a new glove box i just put in it last week.
She fires right up and stops/steers great. Horn works, wipers do not. I have a bunch of grill bars I've collected, they need cleaned, a few straitened and painted. The grill on it is home-made bars and they actually look decent. I have a bunch of other spare parts for it as well.
Aside from the hot weather reliability run last September, I also took it on a V8 club run over to Montana. It was about 400 miles and went over 3 passes (4th of July, Look Out and Thompson). Again, did flawless.

I do not need to sell this 47, but will for 10k or somewhere close (NEW PRICE 8500.00). I did what i did to it so that i could enjoy it, not sell it. so if it needed simething, it got it. no cut corners, nothing half ***. just a good, reliable little driver. If it leaves WA I'm keeping the license plate. It has a clear WA title in my name. It's a great old pickup that gets tons of attention when I drive it. People just love honest old pickups :D It's not perfect but very nice for its age. If your interested or have any questions, PM me here or call me at 509-869-0266

I'm surprised at how much interest I've had on the ol pickup. I'm pretty torn on even selling it, as I know if I ever want to replace it, how hard that will be.

That is a great little truck, I think I would keep it and drive it. If I had the cash it would be on its way to FL. Still regret selling my last classic pickup and that was a long time ago.

If you were closer, I'd think about wanting to see if you would want to swap for a 29 Closed cab Model A P/U...

Based on the amount of work you have done to freshen the old gal up, I would say 10K is quite a deal for that ol pickup!

Still quite a bit of intrest, but no one has stepped up to the plate yet. I've had a cople decent trade offers too...and I'm not opposed to that, but really would like to just sell outright.
