1946 Tudor rear window installation

Hi, I'm new here and I'm sure there has been a thread devoted to this here in the past, but I tried a search and nothing comes up. Could someone direct me to a thread ( or anyplace else) explaining how to install a rear window in a 46 Tudor Deluxe. I have a new gasket, and had no trouble removing the rear window to replace the headliner. Thanks.

When I replaced the rear window rubber in my '46 TuDor it had the stainless trim piece as well. The trick (if you can call it that) is to have one or two helpers on the outside and one on the inside of the car. You’ll need a long piece of string and some dish washing liquid. Apply some dish washing liquid to the rubber channel and (with the string through the opening) start pressing the rubber with the window in it over and around the lip on the body. You'll need to apply a little pressure on the outside edge as the rubber goes into place, use the string to help spread the rubber over the body and continue all the way around. You may have to try a few times before you get it. Have fun.

My 46 is a business coupe so the rear windows don't roll down. If they did I could have replaced it myself. Have done my 40 and 53 F100 by myself. If I can, you can for sure. Rubber on glass, soapy cord in the body lip, set glass in posistion and hold with one hand, reach in and pull the cord untill the glass begins to "seat" then you can work back and forth. Be sure to leave excess cord crossed and hanging out of the rubber to begin the pull with. As you pull the cord I haver found it helpfull to " make circles with the cord" as opposed to a straight pull. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the help. I did everything you mentioned except use the dishwashing liquid, so naturally I ruined one gasket. I'll keep after it until I get it in correctly.
