1946 lincoln spindles

Lincoln kingpins are larger diameter than Ford. spindle arm and spindle geometry are also different. I have some of both spindles and compared them. Others may have more info.

Even if you fitted them with custom bushings to work on the Ford axle, or went the other direction and bored the axle for the Lincoln king pins your camber will be off. Ford king pin inclination (the amount of difference from 90* to the axle stub) is 8* and the Linc is 4 1/2*, you would have about 3 1/2* negative camber. Plenty of Ford spindles out there, either '37-'41 round back or '42-'48 square back.

Use Ford Spindles!

I cut the tops down on '42-'48 spindles and kingpins and used the Lincoln brakes from the same years with the medium setback. This combo does not work well with wire wheels though. Later Zephyr brakes and the earliest hydraulics are a bit cheaper. Then there is the repop Bendix brakes. Good Luck: Fred A
