1946 Ford PU painted insert in door

I have came across a couple of dealer photos of Ford Pick ups with the inserts in the doors painted straw yellow. Was 1946 the last year that Ford painted these inserts? The pick up on the convoy hauler is being hauled with new 1946 Fords, so I would assume that it is a new 1946 Ford also. I am now to the point of painting these inserts on my 1946 Ford PU. Should I, or should not I paint them in? I want the truck to be historically correct.

my 46 half ton was originally a dark green with what I call a straw yellow or what I thaght at the time an off white that had turned yellow, so it sounds like your on the right track, the hood trim and grill were the same color

I believe the yellow color to be Tacoma Cream.
