I purchased a 1946 ford coupe project, keeping the original cross steering, what is a good steering box to use, I am new to this, always ran independent suspension before with later v8 engines, 72 now, started early in high school, 55 chevy 348.
The 46 box should be fine if it is in good working condition. If not it is a fairly easy job to rebuild it. Everything needs to be in very good condition, tie-rod ends, king pins, wheel bearings, etc. If you are interested in a lowered front end, I would suggest an original front axle being dropped (not one of the aftermarket ones), reversed spring eyes, etc. Think there is an axle "dropper" in California, I am familiar with "Okie Joe". Sid's is actually the later model go to guy (Joe and Sid sorta split up the work/years).
