Is there a difference between the convertible rubber body to frame mounts and a sedan body ? I’ve noticed that some venders parts state not for convertible in their ad

If the Merc's are the same as the Fords, then the answer is yes. It has been a while since I did my 48 Ford, but I think it is only in the front that is different.

The reason? You can't find rubber body months for your convertible body. Is there are no rubber mounts. The body is mounted with steel spacers to the frame to prevent flexing of the body as the convertible is very flexible unit.. I have. Restored three of these cars. The spacers are approximately inch and an 8th thick solid steel.

There is also a cast mount at each side of the cowl that is very unique to the convertible.

Thank you Dave and TJ . Is there a thin webbing used between the body and frame ?
I’ve been working ground , drilling wheat and trying to figure out what parts I need for the 47 Mercury. Rain is moving in this weekend. I’ll crawl under the car and see what is underneath it .
