Hey Together!
I´m brand new here and also a brandnew and proud owner of a 1942 Panel truck!
I was able to investigate alot but can´t find any about the front, I find out the original was cut but have no idea what´s in now!
Has anybody seen such a front?
The bumper is also unknown, on top of the bumper i can read " Helms Grand Rapids Mich. " , i found paper weights....!
Can anybody help, does anybody have any information?
Best regards , a merry Christmas and greetings from Germany!
Uwe

HELLO and Welcome to the Ford Barn...Nice looking panel truck ;)

The grill in your Ford panel truck appears to be
from a 75-76-77-78 Ford LTD car.
The bumper is made from some kind of a bumper over-rider...
Maybe someone here can identify the bumper better than I can...

.

I've seen lots of aftermarket bumper ad ons, similar to that but not quite exactly the same. Perhaps home made, or just one I haven't seen before.

Welcome to the Ford Barn. I found a picture of a ‘42 pickup, I think the panel front end would be the same.

Welcome to the ‘Barn!……it is different, but I like it. Somebody researched the size for it to fit that good….Looks better than chicken wire or expanded metal…….I can’t imagine a grille from a ‘76 LTD was easy to find over there either…….Nice looking panel !!…….Mark

Dear all!
I´m very proud of you, yes it looks like its the mask of a 75-78 Ford LTD...!
Yes,its still powered by Ford, a 351W with C4 , a 9-inch rear with Four link and Panhard-rod, Mustang II front with coil -over all around, a nice and relaiable combination in my eyes..., yes i know its not original but cool...!
Thanks again
Uwe

Had anyone find anything else that is not original, instead of the grill , the bumper and wheels?
Rest of the body looks like from 1942 for me...!
Yes its without a change to find a grill from a LTD, i never have seen one here....!

Kind of gives me a Volvo 544 vibe
