1942 Mercury Radiator Side Suports

Refreshed radiator and installed new correct hoses. But the Bubba side supports are now too short and probably incorrect anyway. Bubbba had two shackle looking braces that connected with short carriage bolt to the inserts in the radiator sides and then mounted through a hole on the inner fender brace. The large hex head shoulder bolts were not used for anything.
Can't find a pic in the shop manual or a description of what the correct side supports should look like.
Presume they attach to the inserts in the side of the radiator and then mount to the inner fender using the large hex head shoulder bolts and I also presume there was some sort of shackle type movement to allow for the mounting bolts and springs to allow some flexing. But the braces would prevent forward and back movement of the radiator.

Any insights or pics of what I need to purchase or fabricate to mount this radiator correctly.? All assistance greatly appreciated.

Robert, I sent a private email with photo of a Parts book. Couldn’t get it to post on Fordbarn.

Thanks, Bruce. Looks like this is the part I need. One left and one right.

I can see my '41 is different. I just had it apart. Needed help from my wife to put it back together! The '42 looks easier.

What the parts book illustration is showing is the service part brackets which are the same as 46-48. They are not the same as the originals but where a service replacement. You may need the "U channel which was changed to a 1946 part number. You should also have the brace that goes across in front of the radiator (base numbers 16156 and 16138). The photo I attached shows the brackets on my 42 Ford. Mark Kicsak in Binghampton NY might have the 42 style (phone # 607-729-1693). I have a spare set of the 46-8 style I would sell if you decide to go that route.

I lived previously near Binghamton and knew Mark in a former life, he was into old Ford stuff then!

I have the bottom brace that comes up the front of the radiator on both sides. and the Bubba had two straps bolted from the radiator slots to the inner fender with the large hex head shoulder bolts. So, I'm plannin on just fabricating two straps to connect the two to each other. A straight strap with a bend or two to get around the radiator. But I'm not seeing any other parts that I will need.
Thanks.

I think something could be fabricated that would work. I like original and had a stock radiator redone and tracked down the brackets.
