1941 Headliner difference

Is there a difference between a 1941 Ford business coupe headliner and a 1941 Mercury business coupe headliner? I have the 41 Mercury and it has 5 bows, all the pre made headliners for a business coupe I can find is for the 41 Ford with 4 bows. They say the regular coupe has 5 bows. I don't know if they will work on my car. I know my car is a true business coupe because my grandfather bought the car new.

Bob, on my 42 Ford coupe(3passenger, "business") as I recall there were 5 bows. My upholstery guy made a headliner for it after many careful measurements were made and it came out great. If you can find someone locally to do the same for you, I think you'll be happier than trying to find a premade one.

I stand corrected. Looks like 4 bows on both my 42 and 48 business coupes which the 1942 body parts book confirms. Also indicates Ford and Mercury are the same. There are short bows on each side by the rear window. Wish I could be of more help...

The 41 Mercury has a 1 year production front clip, dash, and tail lights. The front fenders are a 3 piece fender that is wider on the top than the Ford fender. The nose of the hood is about 2 1/2 inches narrower than the Ford hood so the hood latches are different. So with these areas being different I was wondering if the headliner could be also.

From the "being NO help" department....I can tell you a 46-48 ford front seat is narrower than that of the same year Mercury. I would "suspect" that the headliner are too. I would bet 41's are the same.
