1941 ford front sheet metal change?

Serious.....but it is always a treat to see a 41 in NZ because being a Commonwealth country we went to war in 1939 and FOMOCO NZ had converted to war production so we missed 40 -42. I will say the 41 dash is better though because all our 46-48s carried a RH drive version of the US 41 dash ( see my pics )
I still like 41s but I like my "happy" grill.

Hi Graeme
265 Canadian Ford models were imported in 1941 to NZ. The passenger cars [mostly for Services] had the '42 front as production ended Feb '42. The commercials [ remember all the '41 light pick ups that were rodded] had the '41 styling. The cars I have seen were all done as Army cars. Cheers.

My Amercian 42 had a very different grill, one of the ones I wish I hung on to. granted the dash was made of soy plastic as henry thought that bio plastic made sense, it did.... Was not a fan of the fulton shield later in life.

.

Well that explains the 42 Ford I saw here with the 41 dash. I knew it came in during the war probably for the Services, but now you have solved the mystery for me. Thankyou.
